There are a number of transportation options provided to the UCSF Community when looking to commute to the Parnassus Heights campus.

East Bay

BART:
BART services the East Bay providing various connections to both public transportation and UCSF shuttle to Parnassus Heights.

Bart Stations (weekdays)
1) From BART, board a RED Shuttle to MCB, transfer to a LIME shuttle to Parnassus. The shuttles operate from 6:30AM to 8PM about every 15-20 minutes; stops on Parnassus Avenue.
2) SF Muni #22 line serves 16th Street BART, at Church Street and Duboce Avenue, transfer to Muni N line towards Ocean Beach, stops at Irving St. and Arguello St. The bus operates 24 hours a day and the metro from 4:00AM to 1:00AM about every 15 minutes during peak periods.

Caltrain:
Commuters looking to commute via Caltrain, disembark at the 4th and King St. stop within San Francisco.

Caltrain - 4th and King Street (weekdays)
1) SF Muni N line towards Ocean Beach, stops at Irving St. and Arguello St. The metro operates from 4:00AM to 1:00AM about every 15 minutes during peak periods.

Muni within SF:
Muni #6 line stops on Parnassus Avenue. The bus operates seven days a week beginning at 5:30AM to 1:00AM about every 15 minutes. The Muni #6 line connects commuters from the San Francisco Ferry Plaza and Quintara St. and 14th Ave.

Muni #44 line stops on Parnassus Avenue. The bus operates seven days a week beginning at 6:00AM to 1:00AM about every 15 minutes during peak periods. The Muni #44 line connects commuters from India Basin and the Inner Richmond.

Muni N line stops at Irving St. and Arguello St. The metro operates seven days a week beginning at 4:00AM to 1:00AM about every 10 minutes during peak periods weekday through Saturday, and 7:00AM to 1:00AM on Sunday. The Muni N line connects commuters from the China Basin and the Outer Sunset.

Muni from the San Francisco Ferry Building Terminal (weekdays)
The San Francisco Ferry Building Terminal connects ferry service from Vallejo, Harbor Bay, Richmond, Alameda, Oakland, and Berkeley.
Walk from the Ferry Building to the Metro Embarcadero Station, board the Muni N line towards Ocean Beach, stops at Irving St. and Arguello St. The metro operates seven days a week beginning at 4:00AM to 1:00AM about every 10 minutes during peak periods weekday through Saturday, and 7:00AM to 1:00AM on Sunday. (approx. 16 min travel time); about 4 minute walk from Ferry Building to Metro Embarcadero Station.

Muni from the Transbay Terminal (weekdays)
The Transbay Terminal connects bus service from around the Bay Area including AC Transit which serves the East Bay.
Walk from the Transbay Terminal to the Muni N line at Embarcadero between Harrison and Folsom, board the Muni N line towards Ocean Beach, stops at Irving St. and Arguello St. The metro operates seven days a week beginning at 4:00AM to 1:00AM about every 10 minutes during peak periods weekday through Saturday, and 7:00AM to 1:00AM on Sunday. (approx. 16 min travel time); about 5 minute walk from Transbay Terminal to Metro Embarcadero Station.

North Bay

Golden Gate Transit Bus & Ferry:
Golden Gate Transit (GGT) provides regional fixed-route bus service in San Francisco, Marin, and Sonoma counties. Bus service is also available between San Rafael in central Marin and the El Cerrito del Norte and Richmond BART Stations in western Contra Costa County. Local bus service is provided within Marin County under contract with Marin Transit.

Golden Gate Ferry (GGF) operates frequent ferry service between San Francisco and Larkspur in central Marin County, and between San Francisco and Sausalito in southern Marin County.

South Bay

BART:
BART services the South Bay providing various connections to both public transportation and UCSF shuttle to Parnassus Heights.
