Rec Pass for UCSF Students and UCSF Alumni Pass

Get access to all UCSF outdoor trips and leagues on a space available basis.

“The Rec Pass trips continue to be one of the coolest things about UCSF, enriching the lives of its students by showcasing the unparalleled natural beauty of California.” -Sagar Desai, Med Student, class of 2019

“More so than the specific features of the trip was really just how awesome it was that we were able to just drive away, no planning, no making reservations or having to figure out logistics and just show up and be in nature. It was so freeing and it really is one of the best things about medical school.” -Lauren Meiss, Med Student, class of 2018

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the first day of a day trip or. For a camping trip, cancellations must be made 3 days prior to the pre-trip meeting. More than one cancellation made within the 3 day window will result in the Rec Pass or Alumni Pass being revoked.

“No Shows” are when a participant does not attend a trip and no prior communication occurred more than 6 hours before the start of the trip. A “No Show” results in immediate revocation of the Rec Pass or Alumni Pass.

Multiple Cancellations—in order to prevent someone from signing up for a lot of trips and then cancelling, we allow a maximum of 3 cancellations per session (July-Dec, Jan-June). If a pass holder exceeds 3 cancellations in a session, their Rec Pass or Alumni Pass will be revoked.

Refunds for guests: No refunds for guests will be made for those who cancel 3 days prior to the pre-trip meeting or day of trip for day trips.
