UCSF will be replacing all badge readers at all campus sites, including UCSF Health. This will result in improved security for everyone in our community. All UCSF badge holders will need to replace their badges with new ones that can work with the new badge readers.
1). Who is required to have a new ID badge? All employees, trainees, students, affiliates, and certain contractors will eventually have new badges. Affiliates and contractors will eventually need to visit WeID for new replacement badges.
2). Why are we getting new ID badges? For enhanced security features.
3). Where do I get my new ID badge? Convenient badge swap help desks and mobile kiosks will be available at various campus locations. More details to follow. UCSF is working hard to make this change convenient for everyone. Multiple opportunities at different locations will be available. Affiliates and contractors will eventually need to visit WeID for new replacement badges.
4). Do I need my current ID badge in order to get a new one? Yes. If you do not have your current ID badge then please contact either WeID or SecAccess.
5). What if I lost my ID badge? Please have your employee ID number available and contact:
6). Do I need to go to the WeID Office Or Health security office for a new ID badge? No.
7). How much will this cost? The new ID badges are exchanged without cost to the badge holder.
8) Will my access stay the same? Yes, your access will remain the same.
9). How do I get a new picture? More information will be available soon.
10). I have changed my name. Will this show on my new badge? New name changes that are registered with Human Resources will be reflected on the new ID badges.
11). I have a different position title. Will that be displayed on the new ID badge? New position titles that are updated with Human Resources will be reflected on the new ID badges.
12). What about Fastpay? Your Fastpay account will remain the same.
