Block Party on Hiatus Due to Construction
Published on September 13, 2017
The annual Block Party at Mission Bay is taking a short hiatus due to construction activities on the Mission Bay campus and will not occur this October.
Block Party began in 2006 as an event to celebrate the “grand opening” of retail on Gene Friend Way. In recent years, it has grown to attract crowds of more than 4,000 people from UCSF and the surrounding Dogpatch and Potrero Hill neighborhoods.
Construction on the new Joan & Sanford I. Weill Neurosciences Institute Building on the lot adjacent to the Block Party venue makes it difficult to conduct this year’s festivities. While the event is on hiatus be sure to check out the A&E webpage for other community building events near you.
