POLICY & PROCEDURE
Everyone Gets a Turn
To ensure fair and equal access to cardio equipment, there is a 30 minute time limit when others are waiting. If the cardio machine you'd like to use is occupied, just put your name on the nearby waiting list. You are responsible for monitoring the list and being ready when the next machine becomes available. If you are not nearby, you may lose your turn.

If problems regarding time limits on the cardio machines arise, please seek assistance from the front desk staff.

If another member is waiting to use a machine or freeweights, please limit your exercise to one set of 15 reps. You should then take turns using the equipment with the other member. This is known in weight room lingo as "working in." So, if a member asks to "work in" with you, this means you should finish your set and give him a turn.

Cell Phone Usage
For your safety, privacy and the respect of others, turn off your cell phone or set it to silent/vibrate mode. Use your phone only in the fitness center lobby.

Eating and Drinking
We encourage you to carry a water bottle. Remember, thirst is not an accurate indicator of your hydration level. By the time you feel thirsty, you are already becoming dehydrated. So, drink before you get thirsty!

Food and drinks, other than water and sports drinks, are not allowed in the facility. This helps us maintain a high level of cleanliness.

Cleanliness Counts
Be sure to wipe off cardio machines and weight machines when you're done. The next user will appreciate it. Cleaning solution and towels are supplied.

Membership Payment & Cancellation
Payroll deduction is mandatory for UCSF staff and salaried faculty. All other members are automatically charged on a credit/debit card on the 1st of each month.

All membership cancellations must be done in person during Membership Desk hours. For current desk hours, please call 476-0348. A minimum of 30 days notice is required for cancellation. No refunds will be given. Any payroll deduction or credit/debit card changes must be submitted by the 15th of the month, 6pm. Millberry Fitness and Recreation Center is not responsible for fees incurred when a membership has not been cancelled in person or in writing.

Guests
Members and students may host a maximum of two guests (including children) per visit. Guests must sign a guest waiver at the Fitness Desk and must be accompanied by the hosting member when entering the facility and during the workout. Guests who wish to use the game room, in addition to the fitness center, should stamp their hand at the Trainer Desk to allow for re-entry.

Check with the Fitness Desk for the current guest fee.

For liability reasons, children have limited access to areas. Children ages 14 and under may use the following areas with a supervising and participating adult: basketball court, squash & racquetball courts, pool. Guests must be age 15 or older to use the following: weight machines, freeweights, cardio equipment, sauna, and adult Group Fitness classes.

Use of the Swimming Pool
Remember to shower before using the pool. For your convenience, there is a shower on the pool deck. Please ask the Fitness Desk staff about the guidelines for bringing children 14 and under into the pool.

Lockers
Day use lockers are available for members. Please do not use these lockers for overnight storage. For a nominal fee, locks are available for rent at the Fitness Desk.

A limited number of overnight rental lockers open up every quarter and are available via waitlist. Check with the Fitness Desk for availability.

Towel Service
Towel service is complimentary for all Premier members. Shower and workout towels are available to Standard members and guests for a nominal fee.

Hibernation Service
Out of town for business or pleasure? Out of commission with an illness or injury? On maternity leave? Our hibernation service is available for a maximum of six months per calendar year to maintain your membership at a reduced rate. Use of the fitness center is not available during hibernation. For more details, contact Member Services at 476-0348.

Family Swim
Take advantage of this special time to experience some water fun with your child(ren). Parent participation in the water is required for children ages 14 and under who have not passed the swim test. Children 14 and under who have passed the swim test may participate while their parent is on the pool deck.

Saturdays and Sundays 2:30-4:30 pm

If you and your child would like to swim in the deep end during Family Swim, please speak to the lifeguard on duty regarding a swim test. Please keep personal flotation devices at home. Kickboards and pull buoys are available. Children ages six years and older must use their gender specific locker room.
