Although there are no dataports in these buildings, some tenants choose to purchase their own dial-up or DSL service from AT&T or Comcast (415) 859-1828. For internet services, many tenants in the Avenue Houses choose to go to the Kalmanovitz Library, located within a very short walking distance.

Your apartment is equipped with a T-1 connection to University Ethernet services. There is no additional fee for this service. Just plug your computer into the jack and begin! All Properties Water and hot water are provided at no additional cost. However, single-family Faculty Houses need to pay for their own water services.  Contact Housing Services directly for more information.

Trash and Recycling

All Properties
Removal of basic household waste is provided at no additional cost. Near your apartment, you will find trash and recycling chutes (at Mission Bay) or bins (all other properties). Mission Bay tenants are responsible for participating in the composting program. Tenants should bring their composting down to the trash/recycling room located on the East, West and South Buidlings, and place in in the green composting receptacle.

These properties are unfurnished. If you would like to rent furniture, please contact our office for resources. We work with two companies, Brook and Court, and they are familiar with our properties. Choose from a variety of styles at reduced rates specially designed for UCSF.

Transportation

San Francisco and the Bay Area have extensive Transportation Systems. There is one comprehensive web site where you can have your questions answered, and you can even plan a trip.

UCSF Parking and Transportation Services provides Campus Shuttles, Parking, Rideshare, and Bicycle programs, as well as maps and other useful campus info.

Renter's Insurance

Although we currently have no business relationship with a provider, Housing Services recommends that you obtain renter's insurance.

Movers

In the past, Housing Services has used Iron Man Moving to provide moving services for us. This company is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and does local and statewide relocation.
