Hurricane Survivors Receive Priority Housing

Recent disasters as a result of hurricanes Harvey, Irma, and Jose have created a housing crisis for residents in affected areas. FEMA has identified disaster areas approved for Individual Assistance in several states, the US Virgin Islands, and in Puerto Rico (http://www.fema.gov/news/disasters.fema). Those who are moving to UCSF from any of the FEMA disaster areas listed below will receive priority assignment into UCSF Housing. The program will also encompass Caribbean islands listed below that have been impacted by these hurricanes. The priority program ends on May 1, 2018.
TEXAS Counties: Aransas, Bee, Brazoria, Calhoun, Chambers, Colorado, Fayette, Fort Bend, Galveston, Goliad, Hardin, Harris, Jackson, Jasper, Jefferson, Kleberg, Liberty, Matagorda, Montgomery, Newton, Nueces, Orange, Refugio, Sabine, San Jacinto, San Patricio, Victoria, Waller, Wharton.
LOUISIANA Parishes: Beauregard, Calcasieu, Cameron, Jefferson Davis, Vermilion.
FLORIDA Counties: Brevard, Broward, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, DeSoto, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Miami-Dade, Monroe, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter, Volusia
US VIRGIN ISLANDS: St. John, St. Thomas.
PUERTO RICO: All Municipos
CARIBBEAN islands: Anguilla, Antigua, Barbuda, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, St. Barthelemy, St. Martin, Turks and Caicos.
Housing Services will expand the program as necessary when FEMA adds new hurricane disaster areas to its list. In addition, Housing Services will contact any current applicant in these states and islands to notify them of our program.
