Construction Impacts

A new child care center is being constructed on the Mission Bay Campus to provide UCSF families with expanded on-campus child care services. Once construction is complete, the children from the current center will move to the new facility and then the old center will be demolished.

Bright Horizons, LLC, operates all UCSF child care centers and will also operate the new Mission Bay Child Care Center. Bright Horizons is the largest provider of employer-sponsored child care in the United States and has been serving UCSF since 2003.

Trenching work will occur on Gene Friend Way, just south of the child care center, for an approximate two-week duration. Pedestrian access along Gene Friend Way will be maintained, but reduced to accommodate the work.

Work will occur on Block 18c (behind the child care center) to excavate, grade, and surface a south portion of the lot. This work will occur for an approximate three-week duration.

Asphalt pouring will occur on Block 15.

Asphalt pouring will occur on Nelson Rising Lane, Block 14.

Soils will be off hauled and light weight infill will be delivered to Block 18c over an approximate two-week duration.
