The teaching staff and a network of substitutes and volunteers ensure that the individual needs of every child are met. The year-round curriculum includes learning activities, outdoor play, and nutritious hot meals, with a special emphasis on building relationships. Parents are warmly welcomed and encouraged to visit their children during operating hours. The Center also serves as an observation facility for UCSF programs and research projects. Once Kirkham opens, we will close the Marilyn Reed Lucia Child Care Study Center to renovate the environment and facility to accommodate 24 infants and toddlers. This center is very well suited for babies in an open air environment with great visibility within the facility. The playground will be adapted to serve babies from 6 weeks to 23 months. We expect this center to open early Winter quarter 2010. See wait list application for future Kirkham preschool operations and Lucia for infant/toddler services on the Parnassus campus.
