About UCSF Volunteers
UCSF Volunteers gives back to the Bay Area community while enhancing UCSF’s brand, reputation, and community relations. By creating an opportunity for team community service work, this program is expected to increase staff engagement and strengthen employees’ connection to UCSF’s mission and PRIDE values.
The UCSF Volunteers program was developed as the 2016 Campus Life Services Leadership Development Program (LDP) Practicum project. The practicum team believes the program will encourage engagement through community service and team building while making UCSF a top choice employer. There is a strong body of research demonstrating the benefits of employee volunteer programs. Workplace volunteerism develops engagement by connecting to an individual’s need for meaning and accomplishment, strengthening workplace relationships, and increasing the positive feelings of an employee for the employer.
